My name is Jill Whitehead. I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education while specializing in Early Childhood from Texas A&M University-Commerce. I earned a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I also received my Principal Certification and Instructional Leadership Development Certification from Texas A&M University - Commerce.
My career began in Quinlan ISD where I taught first, second, third grade GT, and served as a Reading Specialist over a 14-year time period. I was honored to receive Teacher of the Year for my campus, served as Team Leader, was a founding member of the QISD Education Foundation, and was assigned as an instructional mentor for teachers.
I joined Little Elm ISD in 2015 at Chavez Elementary School. During that time, I served on the ALI Aspiring Leadership Team, as Second Grade Team Leader along with a variety of committees/teams. In 2017, I served as the Assistant Principal at Hackberry Elementary for 5 years.
I’m extremely honored to be a part of the Lone Oak family and serve as the Elementary Principal! I believe a collaborative school environment is the key to creating successful teachers and students. Partnerships with parents and community members are also essential to enriching the experience at Lone Oak ISD. Go Buffaloes!!!
