Pizza Fractions Project

Pizza Fractions Project

Ms. Douglas and Mrs. Brumit's 4th-grade math classes have been on a delicious mathematical journey as they explored the world of fractions through their "Pizza Fractions Project." Each student became a pizza artist, creating a custom pizza masterpiece to share with the class. The project involved coloring the bottom part of the pizza, skillfully cutting it into 4, 6, or 8 equal slices, selecting toppings from a tantalizing array of 18 choices, and showcasing their understanding of fractions through an "ingredients key" with at least 4 fraction representations.

Additionally, students crafted engaging word problems related to their pizzas, showcasing their newfound mastery of fractions in a fun and interactive way. The Pizza Fractions Project not only reinforced mathematical concepts but also sparked creativity and enthusiasm among the students as they savored the joy of learning.
