Lone Oak ISD Superintendent, Mr. Compton, has been getting a firsthand look at what life is like for some of our youngest Buffaloes — by stepping into their shoes himself.

After spending a day as a Pre-K student in Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Witt’s classes, Mr. Compton was promoted to Kindergarten, where he joined Mrs. Stewart and Mrs. Patterson's classes for reading, writing, dancing, and even a taste test of what he described as “the best Chicken Alfredo this side of Olive Garden.”

While these days have been full of laughter, storytime, and lessons in phonics and emotions, the goal behind them goes much deeper. Mr. Compton’s time in the classroom allows him to see learning through the eyes of a student, to experience the care and creativity our teachers bring to their classrooms each day, and to build connections with students who now recognize their superintendent as more than just a name — but as a friendly face in the hallway.

From circle time to cafeteria lunch, Mr. Compton is learning right alongside our Buffaloes — and gaining an even greater appreciation for the people who make Lone Oak ISD such a special place to learn and grow.
